Meridianos presents in London the first international network for the employment of young people in risk of social exclusion
The organization of Andalucia will make public the good practices and success fulfillments on the labour insertions of young people, like the programs PEE from the Junta de Andalucia.
The assotiation from Andalucia, Meridianos, present in London the EXYOnet Project, the first international network for the employment of young people in social risk. In collaboration with the Ealing Council, a public entity of reference in United Kingdom for its collaboration in the labour training of young people will make public this employability network for young people with difficulties the days 16 to 18 of June, in a conference that will take place in Pitzhanger Manor House Central Ealing, in Walpole Park, London. In the project participates experts from Spain, Italy, Greece, Turkey and Portugal, who underline that the connection between companies and candidates for a job is fundamental in the labour insertion. This way, Meridianos and the rest of European partners of the Project will present the good practices and innovative projects that each country develops. In the case of Meridianos, in Andalucia and Spain regarding the labour insertion of young people in risk of social exclusion, such as other fulfillments in young employment, like the participation in the PEE program (Professional Experiences of Employment) of the Junta de Andalucia, which had more tan a 50% of labour insertion in the last five years. The five entities involved in the project are: Meridianos (Spain), who lead the project; Ealing Council (United Kingdom), Cooperatiiva Eriches (Italy), Izmir Government (Turkey) and ECTE (European Center in Training for Employment) (Greece). The expert of the Project Exyonet of Meridianos, Ana Nóbrega, pointed that ‘all the institutions and organizations that are involved understand first-hand the difficulties of the young people in risk of social exclusion have to face nowadays – and in a inmediate future- to confront their incorporation to the work world, in a middle of a economic crisis and with all the social and technological changes’. With this network we create a space that promote the knowledge exchange and transfer of processes, good practices and cases of success between the European professionals for the social inclusion and labour promotion of teenagers and young offenders.
Moreover, it will promote the investigation, development and innovation of the activities related with the itineraries of insertion and training. Finally, guarantee the participation of the European young (ex) offenders into the design of their services with interactive activities where the young people will have the opportunity of explain their real insertion necessities, the difficulties that they face to access the labour market and their solution proposals.
Nóbrega affirms that “the creation of this network is an answer of the necessity of facing together the situation of European unemployment between young people in a situation of discrimination and marginalization. She added that the professionals that make possible the tutelage services, education and orientation will have a real and practical support in order to adapt their competences and qualifications to the new obstacles that the young offenders must face to enter the labour world. The European project EXYOnet will culminate with the White Paper about the good practices next fall in Brussels.
