The Youth in Action Programme, which ran from 2007 to 2013, aimed to inspire a sense of active citizens, solidarity, and tolerance among young Europeans, as well as involve them in shaping the future of the European Union.  

The European Commission promotes dialogue between youth and policy makers in order to increase active citizenship, foster social integration, and ensure inclusion of the young in EU policy development.
